Journal of Sport for Development (JSFD) is a peer-reviewed, open access academic journal dedicated to the field of sports development. This journal was founded in 2012 by an international volunteer team from six countries across four continents, dedicated to publishing original research, case studies, and editorials on sports development plans. The mission of JSFD is to validate, advance, and disseminate evidence, best practices, and lessons learned from sports development projects and interventions.

 journal covers various aspects of the Sport for Development and Peace (SDP) program, including topics such as health promotion, mental health, leadership, youth violence prevention, and sports development programs for Indigenous, M é tis, and Inuit youth. In addition, JSFD also focused on the role of sports in citizen diplomacy, and discussed the experience and cultural perspective of participants in establishing ties with Americans through the Sports Development and Peace (SDP) program. The journal encourages researchers and practitioners to design and implement future plans that promote and prioritize equal contributions between different groups, and to promote and celebrate the strengths of each culture.
