Mental Lexicon is an important concept in linguistics and cognitive psychology, which refers to the long-term stored lexical knowledge system in the human brain and serves as the foundation for language understanding and generation. This concept has gradually received widespread attention and research in the academic community since it was proposed by scholars such as Tressman in the 1960s. The study of psychological dictionaries originated from in-depth exploration of language cognitive processes. Tressman and other scholars first proposed the prototype of a psychological dictionary, which is composed of many entries with different thresholds. When the activation of an entry exceeds its threshold, the word is recognized. With the deepening of research, a psychological dictionary is defined as the representation of the meaning of words in human psychology, which includes various aspects of information such as pronunciation, spelling, syntax, and semantics of words.

As a core concept in linguistics and cognitive psychology, the study of 'Mental Lexicon' is of great significance in revealing the cognitive mechanisms of language, promoting interdisciplinary integration, and advancing the development of related fields. With the continuous deepening of research and the advancement of technology, the study of psychological dictionaries will achieve more fruitful results.
