Social Currents is an academic journal that focuses on research related to the field of sociology. Aim to publish innovative and insightful sociological research results to enhance understanding of social phenomena, social structures, social changes, and other aspects. It covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited to social inequality, social stratification, social mobility, race and ethnic relations, gender studies, family and marriage, education, health and healthcare, labor and employment, social organizations, social networks, culture and values, etc.

This journal accepts articles from different research methods and theoretical perspectives, encouraging diverse academic discussions and exchanges of viewpoints. It provides an important platform for sociologists, researchers, and professionals interested in sociology to share their research findings and reflections. For example, Li Angran, an assistant professor of sociology at New York University Shanghai, has published research in this journal that focuses on the relationship between family, school education, and intergenerational mobility in the context of market-oriented education resources, as well as their impact on educational equity.
