The theme of this journal covers various aspects of management, organizational research, and related fields, with its unified theme being its historical orientation. The journal includes both empirical and theoretical research, aiming to advance innovative historical research methods and promote interdisciplinary dialogue between business and management history and organizational theory.

The historical research methods of magazines are not limited to any specific historical period or geographical region, and their research on management and organization may originate from ancient, medieval, or modern history, as well as from different geographical and social backgrounds. The journal is not only interested in historical research from management and organizational theorists, but also open to accessible historical research from related business disciplines such as marketing, operations management, finance and accounting, human resource management, strategy, technology management, information systems, and political economy.
